Frequently Asked Questions

What separates you from other financial advisors?

Aja Financial offers a distinct combination of expertise, knowledge and transparency. I build customized portfolios for each client along with offering financial planning services. I will NEVER use Turnkey Asset Management Program (TAMP) and outsource the investment selection for my clients’ accounts to a firm, so-called Robo-Advisor, or computer-model. Anytime I am recommending an investment I have personally vetted it against my selection criteria. Further, I am a fee-only financial advisor receiving no commissions nor compensation from any investment products.

Finally, I believe communication is essential in this business and having been a client of other financial advisors before I entered this field, I have felt the frustration of trusting someone to invest with, then feeling neglected after my assets had transferred to them. I therefore work hard to foster an “open-door” relationship with my clients where they can feel free to contact me anytime with questions and for advice. Additionally, I attempt to reach out multiple times a year to check-in on what is going on in my clients’ lives.

What is a Fee-Only Financial Advisor?

Fee-only financial service firms are Registered Investment Advisors (RIA) with a fiduciary responsibility to act in their clients' best interest. They do not accept any fees or compensation based on product sales. Fee-only advisors have fewer inherent conflicts of interest, and they generally provide more comprehensive advice.

Where are my investments held?

Client assets are held in custody with Charles Schwab & Co Advisor or Union Bank & Trust (Alabama College Counts 529 Plans only). We are only authorized to make transactions on your behalf in managing your account. Accounts are always viewable online along with monthly statements.

How do I transfer assets to Aja Financial from another advisor?

Just provide a recent statement from that advisor. I'll set up your new account(s) and transfer the assets.
