Timothy Aja began in the financial services industry in 2001 as an intern for an independent financial advisory firm in Maryland. There he was introduced to not only the basics of investment management and financial planning, but also the added value of serving clients. He enjoyed the work, but realized he had a calling that needed to be answered before he could settle into financial services, so he joined the U.S. Navy becoming an aviator. He qualified in multiple naval aircraft eventually qualifying as SH-60B “Seahawk” helicopter aircraft commander. In the fall of 2008 he moved to Alabama to teach Naval ROTC at Auburn University where he had the great honor of shaping the next generation of Navy and Marine Corps leaders. Tim deployed multiple times: twice onboard navy cruisers with his squadron HSL-46(2006, 2008), once with special operations to Afghanistan(2012), and most recently to Djibouti, Africa(2017). In 2014 he left active duty for the Navy Reserves and joined PricewaterhouseCoopers(PwC) as a consultant in their Financial Services-Advisory practice. There he worked on multiple projects partnering with clients to assist them in achieving their complex goals. He enjoyed PwC and gained valuable knowledge of the financial industry, but again felt a calling. This time to serve his family, friends, veterans, and others in Auburn-Opelika and the surrounding areas. In 2018 Tim joined 20/20 Wealth Management Group, LLC in Auburn as a financial advisor. There Tim affiliated with the Ramsey Solutions SmartVestor PRO network specializing in investment management and partnering with his clients in planning and working hard to achieve their financial goals. He enjoyed working with his clients so much that in 2020 he founded Aja Financial LLC, a registered investment advisory firm in Opelika, AL.
Tim currently resides in Opelika, AL with his wife Michy and their daughter Anna. He was elected in 2022 to serve the citizen of Opelika on the City Council as it's Ward 3 representative. In addition, he continues his service in the Navy Reserves as the Commanding Officer of Navy Region Southeast - Regional Operations Center located on NAS Jacksonville, FL.
